orginally booked for 30th December but Wroxall Abbey cancelled as they had a problem with the Gas so was rearranged for today. I book 2 groupon Vouchers for 6 people. The table was booked for 6 people. We was seated to a round table but we did not have a good experience. First it was cold, no heating was on apart from a log Fire that was burning further down the large room which had no Impact on where we was sitting. We booked in for 2.00PM and no one came to serve us until 3.00PM. I have coeliac Disease so there was only one option on the Starter, no option on the mains and only item Cream on the desert which was to cold to have. At 3.00PM we was finely asked what we would like to eating although at this point we had not been asked what we would like to drinking only been given water. We started with the starters, we order 1 prawn cocktail, 1 soap, 2 pate and 2 chicken samosa's. 5 minutes later the waitress said there was no chicken samosa's so it was changed to 2 vegetable samosa's. It took at least 30 minutes before they arrived. We was asked what we wanted to drinking which was then served to the tape. For our main meal we was told there was no been left. We ordered 5 chicken roasf dinners and 1 pork roasf dinner. The main meals arrived at approx 5.00PM. The dinners arrived cold, the chicken was more like a thigh not sliced chicken or a chicken breast. The pork came but not sliced pork but 1 pork chop. Like i said it arrived cold. We was then asked what we would like for dessert, at this point there was only 2 options, Christmas putting or ice-cream. Considering our booking was at 2.00PM the options available on the menu was next to nothing, terrible service. The venue was cold and people was sitting with there coats on. We evenually left at 6.00PM as we was just sitting and waiting. If it wasn't for already paying for the groupon Vouchers in advance we would have walked out and gone somewhere else. I will not be recommending people to go to wroxall Abbey.

Very nice location. Impressive drive way. Staff member on desk gave us our room number but no direction on where to go. The room was nice but cold. Our nights sleep was not great as there was a massive air conditioner in the court yard out side that was droning all day and night. We had to leave the TV on just to cover the noise.
The food in the restaurant was ok but the menu was limited. The fact that some of it was unavailable did not help. My wife's desert had what I think was dried rock solid date in it that I couldn't even cut with a knife. Could of easily broken a tooth or choked. A glass of wine was 10 quid. Breakfast was not good. Everything was cold and nothing had been topped up. It was all cooked well but to cold to enjoy. The two tables either side of us complained to staff about the breakfast. All in all I would not stay again

Wroxall Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire, a beautiful historic building, is unfortunately managed very poorly, particularly by the owner. He often hires individuals, especially students, who may not have the qualifications needed for their roles. I was one of them. These workers are typically forced to work extremely long hours—sometimes 14 to 17 hours a day—without contracts, and are often exploited. The owner uses manipulative tactics, promising great opportunities but failing to pay employees properly, leaving them to beg for their wages. Employees may receive only partial payments, such as £100 or £200 after much persistence, while the owner consistently withholds salaries, accumulating debts of over £1,500 to workers. This is made worse by the use of emergency tax codes. The hotel is also understaffed, with one person expected to handle multiple roles, including cooking, housekeeping, reception, and even night porter duties. It's a place where you can expect long hours but won't be compensated fairly. When employees ask about their pay, the owner, Paresh, often blocks their communication, further demonstrating his disregard for legal and ethical practices. The hotel essentially exploits vulnerable students in this manner.

AWFUL HOTEL!!!!!!!
Avoid this place at all costs. We arrived early evening on December 7th. Storm Darargh was is full swing. Went to to our room to find the air conditioning blowing out freezing cold air. We turned it off. No radiators in the room. The wind was coming through the roof windows with the blinds visibly rattling. My husband went to reception and asked why there was no heating up there. He said he would send up some heaters. We waited 30 mins still no heaters. We couldn't take our coats off it was so cold. The bathroom radiator was also not working. We were advised they would send someone up to look at it. No one arrived as they were busy elsewhere. My husband asked to be moved to another room. There wasnt any. The staff, apparently the proprietor that we spoke to was not at all interested in our complaint. My husband requested a refund to which he replied he had taken the payment from booking.com as we booked through them. The next day we contacted booking.com and they had taken payment. They refused the refund.
This hotel has no care for its customers at all

Location is great. Food was ok rather than outstanding. Serving staff should know what's available and what's not, then they don't have to run off to find out. Also, listen to the order and don't get it wrong. Also, waiters would do well to communicate better (don't just go and get a bowl of custard without saying anything; the information would help determine when to start eating).

purchased a wowcher for Wroxall abbey hot tub stay . Firstly the wowcher is misleading the hot tub isn’t apart of the accommodation it’s a whole separate area. Which we were told we had to wait if we wanted to use it . We were asked if we wanted to dine or breakfast we declined and the memeber of staffs atitued towards us changed immediately. Secondly we got there the room was ice cold the window was broken and wouldn’t close we had to ask and plead to be changed room. The gentlemen then informed us another guest had broken the heating system in that room earlier in the week and that they knew the windows wasn’t the best , So why put us in there in the first place if you new the room wasn’t fit for purpose. We had to ask for towels and toilet rolls as they weren’t provided . This was ment to be a nice birthday weekend away . Awful never again !

My partner and I booked a night here as a special treat while meeting some friends at Warwick castle and were extremely disappointed. So much so that we refused to stay, after booking one of their deluxe 4 poster bed rooms we arrived to mould and rot in the coving of the room, it hadn’t been hoovered, we had no toilet roll and it was freezing and stains on the bed sheets.
Upon complaining they offered us a different room which was much the same. The whole hotel is just not up to the standard that it looks on their website by any means, while respecting its an old building and will have quirks it looks like it’s very much been left to get run down, which is fine but I wouldn’t expect the high price tag for this reason. We refused to stay after showing the staff the room without much apology from them, since we have had to ring over 10-20 times to have had rows with the staff over giving us our money back which they said was fine when we left, constant rudeness and excuses as to why the owner of the hotel hasn’t been able to authorise a refund, even down to his own personal life excuses which is extremely unprofessional. I’m sure there are some perfectly fine rooms for a lower budget but really not what we expected for a higher price tag room and the staff are just shocking.

I came here with my best friend for an overnight stay as part of my birthday celebrations a few days ago.
It was better than expected as we have never been before, and despite the negative reviews previously, our experience was fantastic.
The room was big, lovely decor and super clean, and staff were really friendly and welcoming - we couldn't find any fault here at all compared to previous experiences others had.
The service was also the best we ever received - our food was delicious, and we really had a great dinner and breakfast. Service was made lovely and was given an extra special touch by our server Suram (if I have said his name right??) who was so lovely and attentive when it came to serving food and drinks - there were no issues at all.
Bed was comfy and very roomy and the grounds itself were beautiful.
Although the spa is closed at the moment for refurbishment and we couldn't access this, staff have mentioned they're hoping it will be open Summer 2025.
Overall, a great stay.

We recently enjoyed a Sunday roast dinner, and it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a family meal. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel so welcome.
The food was incredible—tender, flavorful meat, perfectly cooked vegetables, and crispy, golden roast potatoes. But the star of the show was the gravy—rich, delicious, and absolutely irresistible. It brought everything together beautifully!
This was more than just a meal; it was a memorable experience for the whole family. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea after receiving a gift card and choosing Wroxall Abbey as our location. Huge mistake ! The actual place is beautiful and located in lovely countryside. On arrival we couldn’t find reception, eventually discovered it was actually in a small room with a receptionist? sitting working behind a desk. She actually showed us to the afternoon tea room, no one else was in the room, she commented that she would try and find someone. Eventually she bought us the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were at least fresh, however, there was more pickle on than cheese, more mustard than ham. The scones could have doubled as weapons, rather burnt on top and claggy inside, with a small container of bought jam. The cakes …..well…… they bear no resemblance to the photos of afternoon cake that they have on their website. They were plain and ordinary bought cakes. A slice of Madeira, a slice of chocolate fudge cake, and a slice of Victoria sponge with a cream layer. All very dry and no effort put into it at all. As we were finishing a group of 4 people came in, led by a middle aged man dressed in a shabby tracksuit, who started dragging tables together. We then realised he was a member of staff. We saw no one from the kitchen, no waitress/waiter came to check on us. Worst afternoon tea ever.

A chaotic but okay experience.
We came here for afternoon tea and it was bewildering from start to finish. When you drive in, the signs for parking are awful. The first sing points left for parking to a car park with weeds 6ft tall. We ignored it and drove straight, following signs for EV charging, and emerged into what is obviously the normal day-to-day car park. It just wasn't signposted.
The building looks lovely. It's an old building with some stained glass windows, a little old-brick-church outside, and it's set amongst fields of sheep.
Then we came inside and went to reception, where we waited for the receptionist to finish her phone call, before being directed to the restaurant area. We had booked with a voucher, but nobody asked out names.
The restaurant area looked good. A fire crackling in the hearth, tall ceiling, big windows. But it was cold. We kept our coats on. We said we were there for an afternoon tea booking. The waiter took us to a table and asked what we wanted to drink. This bit was weird. I asked for a decaf latte. That's often a long shot, and I recognise that, but some places surprise me! He said they didn't do that. I asked for decaf tea. He said they didn't do that either. I asked for just normal tea. He ignored this said they could do decaf coffee, or cold drinks. I asked what cold drinks - he said any. I asked for 1/2 pint beer. He said I couldn't have beer, and offered apple juice. I said okay. When he came over with our apple juice, I again asked for normal tea. This time he offered me the beer! I said yes to the beer, and then received both the normal tea and the beer! What a roller-coaster.
Next up was food. He asked if we had any dietary requirements. When we had phoned to book they had asked us for dietary requirements then, and I'd told them then that my wife was pregnant, so couldn't have cream cheese, smoked salmon, etc. They had dutifully noted it all down! But when I told the waiter we'd given dietary requirements on the phone, he said he couldn't access that. (Why ask on the phone!?). I explained again and he said one of the sandwiches was a salmon and cream cheese sandwich. My wife said she couldn't have that.
Then the food arrived, and there were the salmon and cream cheese sandwiches! He pointed them out, and said those were the ones to avid. Why ask us what we can't eat, if you're going to bring them anyway!?
When we had afternoon tea at Coombe Abbey, they swapped the salmon one out for a coronation chicken. Not so with Wraxall!
It improved then, as the scones and cakes were lovely. I wasn't thrilled with the sandwiches. There was 'Ham & Mustard', 'Cucumber and cream cheese', 'Salmon and cream cheese', & egg mayo. They're okay, but why not do like 'bacon & cranberry' or 'salami & cheese' or 'coronation chicken', or let me choose? But the scone was fresh and warm and the brownies with pudding were excellent.
Then it was time to leave and we asked the waiter if we could 'pay with our voucher'. He said we had to go back to reception. We did, and waited in a queue of people all wanting to be escorted to hot tubs (?), before finally the same waiter came in, asked for our names (first time!), said "You booked with a voucher" as if he was delivering us genuine news, apologised for our wait, and sent us on our way!
I have mainly highlighted the negatives I suppose. The tea was nice. The beer was nice. The décor was good. It was just a bit bewildering. I would have preferred, when we came in and sit down, for them to have explained how things work. What is and isn't included, what we can and can't have on the voucher, etc.

An Unforgettable Anniversary Stay at Wroxall, Abbey
We recently celebrated our anniversary at Wroxall, Abbey, and it was truly an experience to remember. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional care and hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their warmth and professionalism made us feel so welcome.
The venue itself is stunning, set in beautiful surroundings and impeccably maintained. It effortlessly combines luxury with comfort. Our room was a testament to this, boasting high-end features while still being cozy and inviting. It's clear that they are always looking for ways to improve, which is impressive given the already high standards.
The culinary experience was another highlight. My husband couldn’t stop raving about the curry, declaring it the best he’s ever had! For me, discovering the deliciousness of masala chai was a delight—I’ve found my new favorite drink.
To top it all off, we were surprised with a bottle of Prosecco in our room, a thoughtful touch that made our anniversary even more special.
Wroxall, Abbey, is a gem in every sense. Whether for a special occasion or just a luxurious getaway, we can’t recommend it highly enough. We can’t wait to return!

You need to avoid at all costs, a quick google will tell you what you need to know. We turned up at 4pm, freezing dirty room with pulled up tiles, broken heating, no hot water. Staff didn’t do anything AT ALL. In 2 hours to rectify the situation. You can see I’m the bathroom from outside, waved at a lady from the shower but I’m not really into being watched shower. Staff were so rude to my wife when she was desperately trying to salvage the situation. Owner has a serious attitude problem. We left Warwick and drove back to Scotland at 6pm. It was so bad it was almost funny. Stay well clear

Lovely hotel with absolutely fantastic staff, nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfasts were amazing but the other meals were pretty standard.
Hot tubs with views were available which were great.
Rooms were also brilliant especially the non standard ones.
The outstanding part of the hotel was definitely the staff!

Hugely better than we expected. We went for an afternoon tea. On arrival were shown to our seats. Staff were attentive but not overly fussing - which is always good. We were served promptly and the food was fresh and great quality. The sandwiches were well filled and supremely fresh. The cakes were delicious and plentiful. The potted tea was delicious and they had decaffeinated. Great product in lovely setting. Also visit the church facing the entrance, it's a lovely tranquil spot for reflection.

Had and amazing experience at Wroxall. The place itself looks like a castle from the outside and with Morden rooms. I specifically want you thanks the staff that went above and beyond to help me during my stay. I had forgotten my charger at home and the lovely lady at the reception without any hesitation let me borrow hers overnight. Compliments to the chef Somy for amazing food. All the staff had a friendly face and really welcoming. Thanks for this amazing experience I will definitely book again to stay here x

Wroxall 'Shabby' was refurbished on a shoestring about 3 years ago. It was ok to start, but the cheap refit is now deteriorating and needs serious attention.
The cleaning of rooms is very poor. In my case, big spiders and cobwebs in corners of room, stained bed sheets and stains on bathroom windowsill.
The hotel changed hands about a year ago as it went into administration. The new owners have not got the correct staff in place, as the customer service is extremely poor. No welcome or greeting on checkout and did not ask how the stay was. No thank you or goodbye either, he just stared at computer screen the whole time.
The buffet breakfast was terrible. Sausages undercooked with a strange vinegary taste. Hash browns were stone cold and toaster took about 5 minutes just to get the bread warm.
Wroxall Abbey has so much potential as the building itself and grounds are incredible. It's just such a shame that it's poorly managed and run.

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea at Wroxall hall.
Great before a visit to Hay woods & Baddersley Clinton.
Very welcoming & quick service.
We loved the hall, the surroundings & some history there too.
Shame the church was not open, I would of bought & lit a candle for my late daughter in there.
The graves were interesting to read though.
The food was lovely, arranged beautifully, nicely filled sandwiches & a lot of cake.
The scones were the best we have had in a long time & a nice big size.
We took the chocolate cake home,as we were so full & did not want to waste any.
Maybe ask if you want choc or victoria sandwich,as they were big slices.
Nice tea also & value for money on wowcher.
